People suffering from a hormone deficiency have nowhere to go in the Dutch health care system. Treatment is often denied because patients get incorrectly labeled as perfectly healthy or it is assumed that the deficiency naturally resolves over time. The Dutch endocrinology guidelines/treatment protocols are outdated and insufficiently optimize quality of life. From personal experience, this leads to years of hospital visits and cumbersome medical discussions without efforts towards symptom resolution. If the deficiency isn't caused by lifestyle factors and doesn't recover on its own, it's imperative that a patient is given proper treatment based on an intelligent protocol.
It is my ambition to open up an HRT (hormone replacement therapy) clinic in the Netherlands and to become a medical facilitator that connects patients with competent medical professionals through telemedicine. I wish to help those that are suffering get the treatment they deserve, rather than the (lack of) treatment that is being offered by Dutch hospitals. I am no doctor and have no medical background, which is why I don't intend to give out medical advice myself.
